Carhartt has several fabrics available, so to help you choose the right one we've listed the different options below with a brief description.

To simplify things, we've placed the Carhartt Flame Resistant fabrics in its own section.

	Firm Duck - 12oz. 100% Cotton firm hand Duck. Ringspun with plied filling yarns. Tight (basket) weave construction provides durability, wind and snag resistance. Fabric is treated for water repellancy. This fabric is unwashed and shrinks considerably after washing. We recommend going up one to two sizes when buying items made from this fabric.
	Sandstone Duck - 12oz. 100% Cotton Duck. Fabric is micro-sanded and pre-washed to produce a soft "broken-in" feel from day one. Fusion double dyed for unique color appearance. Items made from Sandstone Duck will have only minimal shrinking since they have been "pre-washed". We recommend choosing at your normal size when buying items made from this fabric.
	Washed Duck - 12oz. 100% Cotton Duck. Ringspun with plied filling yarns. Garment washed for soft "broken-in" feel from day one. Items made from Washed Duck will have only minimal shrinking since they have been "pre-washed". We recommend choosing your normal size when buying items made from this fabric.
	Cotton Canvas - Made from a lightweight 7.5 and 8.5-ounce, 100% cotton canvas. These pants and shorts are pre-washed with detergent and softeners to provide a "broken-in" feel from day one. They are extremely cool, lightweight and comfortable, yet durable enough to resist abrasions and tears.
	Rigid Denim - This deep blue denim is unwashed and available in 10 and 11.75 and 15-ounce, 100% cotton denim. This fabric is unwashed and shrinks considerably after washing. We recommend going up one to two sizes when buying items made from this fabric.
	Stonewash Denim is washed with detergent, softeners and bleach to achieve a light blue color and a "broken-in" feel. It is available in a durable 15-ounce, 100% cotton denim. Items made from Stonewash Denim will have only minimal shrinking since they have been "pre-washed". We recommend choosing at your normal size when buying items made from this fabric.
	Darkstone Denim is washed with detergent and softeners to achieve a medium blue color and a "broken-in" feel and is available in 11.75 and 15 ounce, 100% cotton denim. Items made from Darkstone Denim will have only minimal shrinking since they have been "pre-washed". We recommend choosing at your normal size when buying items made from this fabric.
	Fleece - Made in a variety of weights and styles, Carhartt sweats are made from a cotton/polyester blend giving you durability and freedom of movement. Minimal shrinkage and pilling. Spandex reinforced rib knit cuffs and bottom band provide excellent stretch recovery. Great for layering.
